Where Tender Minds May Grow

In the first twelve months of life, newborns grow, learn, and change rapidly. The developmental milestones of younger and older newborns differ significantly. Planning for this growth can be difficult if you have older children who are somewhat more independent and mobile, as well as extremely small, immobile infants.  Gravois Childcare Learning Center caregivers have the information they need to plan engaging activities for babies. Caregivers understand what to expect from infants of different developmental levels as they expose them to engaging activities and interactions.

As young toddlers continue to grow and learn, the months of 12 to 24 months bring about a whirlwind of activity, movement, language, and first steps of independence. For toddlers, everything is either brand-new and thrilling or rather difficult and annoying.  We focus on building practical skills, language, social, and emotional learning – all with relationship-focused teaching and care at the heart. 

 Three to five- year-olds are able to solve more and more problems, figure out unique ways to do something, and want to find out why. Caregivers become strong models, allowing children time to try and work through challenges while caregivers ask important questions or provide support to children’s learning. Children’s skills in all developmental areas grow with these continued opportunities to be actively engaged in their learning and trusted as a learner.  

 Our school agers have a fun-filled summer with activities that prevent the unwanted “Summer slide” when students lose knowledge obtained during the school year. Your school ager will look forward to attending our center each year!
